Snow drifting downward
Dogs barking at every car
Waiting for silence

Soft blue winter scape
Three crows flying into dawn
Cattails are shriveled

waiting amongst trees
sitting silent with my kid
a shot seals the deal.
lying in my bed
I watch light grow  through my glass
thinking of my day
driving into snow
under a dirty orange sky
waiting for sunlight
new snow on old ice
I sit waiting for my kids
enjoying the light

Walking through water
Mayflies dancing on a film
Trout and I watching
Sitting in sunlight
Listening to my children
coffee with whiskey
boiled eggs and broth
sliced onions garlic and leeks
ramen for my wife
I sit listening
Watching a little white boat
Equinox greetings
Waiting and Working
While the Clock ticks ever onward
Finish line greetings
Colorful trees reach
Ripples and waves like brush strokes
Watching a grey sky

Why am I fighting for my wife in Crown?
I am fighting for her

Because I remember her youth

I remember her sacrifice of her youth
for myself and my Children

I remember the long nights
of caring for our new family

I remember her patience
in my wandering

I remember her support
in every step I have taken in becoming me

So how can I not fight for her?

How can I not attempt to do my best in something she finds worthy?
Walking under clouds
We gather the things we need
Waiting to make broth
Hazy green leaves sprout
We feel sunlight in our bones
Escaping winter

looking at my hand
I miss the life around me
The phone is a trap

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

spirits from on deep
they nibble ephemeral
ignoring my drifts

Sunday, March 26, 2017

Working in wood smoke
I hear a robin singing
making things sweeter

Monday, March 20, 2017

A gray streaking sky
Eagles circle above us
Greeting spring sunshine
Walking among rocks
I search water seams for trout
A king fisher flies

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Waiting for a bear
I listen to the drums beat
Watching the smoke dance

Friday, January 20, 2017

drinking my mint tea
thinking about yellow trout
echos of water
Bits of fur and thread
Winding away the hours
Hoping to fool fish

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

sitting in wet snow
I watch all the lights go by
waiting for children

Thursday, January 5, 2017

wandering through snow
I can hear water calling
filled with little fish

Wednesday, January 4, 2017

four crows then two
sit huddled in winter light
even trees hug them

January light adding
I see the wind biting at them
keeping vigil I see them
